The Community Wellness and Chronic Disease Prevention Branch at Ottawa Public Health is responsible for developing policies and interventions to help individuals achieve optimal health. They collaborate with organizations to create supportive social and physical environments and build community capacity in mental health, substance use, chronic disease and injury prevention, and vaccine-preventable diseases.
Supervised by a Public Health Dietitian and/or Public Health Nutritionist, the Public Health Nutrition Student will support groups, families, and the community in planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating nutrition-related interventions.
Post-secondary Student - completion of third year (or beyond) college or university in Baccalaureate degree in Nutrition (essential)
Two years or more of related experience is required, experience in client/customer service environment
Experience working with the public in health care related field is desirable
