Energy Transition is an exciting new initiative at Irving Oil that will help our organization meet the opportunities and challenges associated with Global Energy Transition. In this role you work with the Energy Transition and Project Execution Team supporting the Portfolio Planning and Management and Project Controls of a diverse and exciting portfolio of projects. You could be a part of projects like Renewable Energy, Hydrogen and Biofuels projects, Carbon Capture and Sequestration projects, and Clean Fuel Regulations projects.

This role will help you gain exposure to the overall process of project development, cost control and execution. You will be part of a grassroots team that is still developing processes to ensure projects in the portfolio are prioritized to meet the energy transition GHG reduction targets and credit reduction/generation goals. You will apply problem solving, stakeholder management and organization skills day to day. This includes monitoring and reporting on the portfolio, risks, and progress for both Saint John refinery and other off-site projects. You will also be asked to contribute to the management of the portfolio by establishing project prioritization criteria that aligns with strategic goals.

Your Experience:

  • Currently enrolled in an Engineering or Business program
  • Must have completed at least one year of post-secondary education and be returning to school
