As a Building Operations Technician, you will be part of the Building Operations Team managing 6 properties in Saint John, New Brunswick. Management of the Home Office (a LEED certified building) involves the use of various programs and digital platforms running the systems within the building (heating, cooling, ventilation, lighting, emergency power, etc.). This role will involve working on various projects including Fire and Life safety planning, Seasonal maintenance and upgrades, and responding to service requests.

  • The Building Operations team responds to various request submitted through the Service Now platform. These requests can involve a variety of systems (heating/cooling), room reconfiguration, furniture adjustment/repair, infrastructure repair.
  • Maintenance to mechanical and electrical systems as outline in the Preventative Planned Maintenance Programs for the various facilities.
  • Monitoring of the Building Automation System (BAS), Lighting controls, and Fire Alarm systems.
  • Assist and shadow the Building Operator in regular maintenance and repair activities.
  • Cooling Tower Oversight and review of findings with Building Operator.
  • Oversight of Contractor activities along with review of JSA and Work Permit forms.
  • Working with the Building Operations team to develop and review standards, maintenance KPIs, equipment reliability.
  • Learning and tracking of the regulatory compliance standards, regulations and procedures.

  • Knowledge of MS Office
  • Hands on perspective and willing to provide assistance in a variety of instances.

Your Experience:

  • NBCC Enrollment in Power Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technician or Mechanical Engineering Program.
  • Experience with carpentry and mechanical equipment would be seen is an asset.
  • Must have completed at least one year of post-secondary education and be returning to school
