Galore Creek Mining Corporation is seeking a Mine Engineering Student to support the development of Galore Creek's ongoing pre-feasibility-level study.
Reporting to the Manager of Mine Planning, the mine engineering summer student will provide pre-feasibility-level technical support in the following areas: activity-based mine scheduling, operational cost modeling, report writing, and general information presentation.
This position will be office-based at the Galore Creek Vancouver office. The expected start date for this role is in early May 2025, and the end date will be approximately August 31, 2025.

Responsibilities
Be a courageous safety leader, leading by example and fostering a proactive safety and sustainability culture based on the common values of health, safety, environment, and social responsibility shared by Teck and Newmont (the Partners).
Coordinate pre-feasibility deliverables with other Technical Services groups (Geology, Geotechnical, Processing, Water Resource).
Mine planning responsibilities will focus on:
Support in the management of mine planning workbooks
Complete mining-related technical study reviews and present recommendations
Consolidate technical information for entry into the pre-feasibility report.
The above responsibilities and accountabilities are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all-inclusive.
Currently enrolled in a Mine Engineering degree program from an accredited post-secondary institution.
Prior work experience in mine planning and/or mine financial modeling.
Strong data management skills and proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to complete work in a timely manner.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written; the ability to write clear and concise reports and present technical information to a variety of audiences
Familiarity with specialized mining software (Deswik, Maptek Vulcan) is an asset.
Pay Range (Annual Salary): 56,900 - 72,000
The actual base salary offered is determined based on the successful candidate's relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
