Job Summary

Galore Creek Mining Corporation is seeking an Operations Summer Student to support the Field Operations Group with the care and maintenance of the Galore Creek project site.

Reporting to the Superintendent of Field Operations, the Summer Student will provide hands-on support to operations with a focus on asset management, logistics coordination, and continuous improvement initiatives. Responsibilities will include data collection and system updates, support for operational workflows, participation in field activities, and contributing to small-scale improvement projects.

This position will be field-based at the Galore Creek project site on a 15-day on and 13 days off rotational basis, inclusive of travel. This rotation is subject to change as the project.

Responsibilities

  • Be a Courageous Safety Leader by setting a positive example and contributing to a strong safety and sustainability culture aligned with the values of health, safety, environment, and respect shared across the Galore Creek Project.

  • Asset Management Support:

  • Collect data and support updates to the ArcGIS platform and Master Asset Register for buildings and equipment on site.

  • Update and align equipment asset tags and records between ARC GIS and CMMS, including physical tag verification and reinstallation.

  • Assist in preparing and organizing materials for upcoming building assessments with external inspectors.

  • Operational & Administrative Support:

  • Assist with automation initiatives and general data validation

  • Support data entry and cleanup, including closing work orders, updating preventive maintenance tasks, and creating purchase requisitions.

  • Logistics & Site Coordination:

  • Flex between field offices (Uhtlan/Ch'iyōne) to support the supply chain management.

  • Participate in field operations exercises, contributing to organizational tasks and learning key safety and operational procedures.

  • Special Projects & Safety Support:

  • Lead or support a small improvement initiative.

  • Assist with the preparation of weekly communications and presentations.

  • Support marketing and communications initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor of Applied Science (Mine Engineering, Geological or Geotechnical Engineering, or equivalent) program from an accredited post-secondary institution.

  • Strong data management skills and proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite.

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to complete work in a timely manner.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work in a cross-functional environment.

  • A passion for continuous improvement and interest in mining, logistics, or operational efficiency is considered a strong asset.

Pay Range (Annual Salary): 50,100 - 63,400

The actual base salary offered is determined based on the successful candidate's relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
