JOB SUMMARY

As a Mountain Crew team member, you are responsible for assisting all departments with daily operations and special events and are expected to deliver a safe and exceptional experience for all mountain guests. Under direct supervision from the Mountain Crew Supervisor and Mountain Operations Duty Managers, Summer Mountain Crew will assist other departments with manual tasks, clean up and tear-down, landscaping, transport, fences, trail building and on occasion are expected to assist with line control and other guest related duties.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Assisting other departments with manual tasks
  • Cleaning up or assisting trade workers with special tasks
  • Cleaning of mountain top areas
  • Using chainsaws and brush-cutters for various jobs
  • Landscaping mountain top and base areas and maintaining these areas
  • Mowing lawns
  • Assisting with transport of goods around the mountain top area
  • Assisting with set up and tear down of materials for events
  • Maintaining trails
  • Building fences
  • Tearing down and setting up of all seasonal signage and attractions in preparation for the new season
  • Other duties as required

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position reports directly to the Mountain Crew Supervisor and Mountain Operations Duty Managers, with no direct supervisory responsibilities.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND ABILITIES

  • Previous experience in landscaping, construction or similar
  • Mechanical experience an asset
  • Valid Class 5 Drivers License or above required
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and work well with others

WORKING CONDITIONS

Summer Mountain Crew performs most of their duties outdoors and may work in all different kinds of weather conditions. Hours of Operation are weather dependant. Due to the nature of the business, this position requires flexibility in terms of your work schedule. A variety of work schedules may include a variety of start times, including shifts on weekends and statutory holidays. Shifts require standing for long periods of time, lifting, twisting, and other forms of manual tasks.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

$18.66 to $21.82/hour
